New 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 offers longer range, bigger screens and a quieter cabin
Prices for the luxurious electric SUV now start from £65,915 – slightly more than before – rising to £74,915 for the range-topping edition
The revised Genesis Electrified GV70 is now available to order, packing a bigger battery for more range, an enormous 27-inch display and enhanced sound insulation, as the brand bids to keep up with the Audi Q6 e-tron, Polestar 3 and next-generation BMW iX3 due later this year.
Prices start from £65,915, which is only a few hundred pounds more than they did pre-facelift, and buyers have a choice of three trim levels – Pure, Dynamic and Luxury – plus 13 paint colours including a new Ceres Blue available in either metallic or matte finish.
Standard equipment across the range includes electronically controlled adaptive suspension that uses cameras to read the road ahead, fingerprint recognition for starting the car and a ‘Highway Driving Assist’ feature that combines adaptive cruise control with other driver-assistance systems. Every model also gets a heated leather steering wheel, heated front seats, a powered tailgate, that whopper of a central display and an energy-saving heat pump.

For nearly £5,000 extra, Dynamic trim swaps the standard 19-inch rims for a 20-inch set, and adds blind-spot monitoring, a head-up display, a remote parking function, as well as ‘forward and parking collision avoidance assist’.
Finally, Luxury models start from £74,915 and include even more top-class features, such as an electric panoramic sunroof, active road noise cancelling, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, all of which were only previously available as optional extras.
On that note, optional extras for the new Electrified GV70 include vehicle-to-load charging capability for £890, which allows you to use the car’s battery to power small electronic appliances. Nappa leather seats are another £2,500, or there’s the Serenity pack, which adds a UVC sterilisation box and an air aroma diffuser for £260.
Battery, range and performance
Then there’s the new 84kWh battery, which replaces the 77.4kWh unit the Electrified GV70 previously used and has increased the car’s official range from 283 to 298 miles.
Despite the larger battery, the Electrified GV70 can still be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in only 19 minutes from a 350kW ultra-fast charger. Genesis says the battery-conditioning mode has also been improved, to allow drivers to maximise charging performance.
Genesis has also worked to improve ride quality and refinement in the already luxurious electric SUV. For instance, upgrades to the electronically controlled suspension reduce body movement under hard acceleration and braking when the ‘highway driving assist’ function is activated. More sound-absorbing material has also been added, along with vibration damping material to the top of the huge battery under the floor.

The dual-motor powertrain delivers 483bhp, 700Nm of torque and all-wheel drive, plus a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds when drivers activate the ‘Boost’ button on the steering wheel for maximum performance. There are also specialised ‘e-Terrain’ modes for handling snow, mud and sand.
Finally, Genesis has also added ‘Virtual Gear Shift’ tech to the Electrified GV70, like that found in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, to try to create a “more dynamic driving experience”. It’s supposed to deliver the sensation of gear changes using sound and by controlling the e-motors’ power delivery.
Styling and interior changes
The facelifted Genesis Electrified GV70 sports a new front bumper meant to give the car a wider look, and a brighter finish for the ‘crest grille’ panel and lower air intake. The distinctive split headlights also feature Genesis’ ‘Micro Lens Array’ matrix-LED technology recently added to the GV60 coupé.
Elsewhere, there are new 20-inch rims, the rear lights incorporate turn signals that were previously in the lower bumper, which has also been freshened up, and the high-mounted brake light now spans almost the entire roof spoiler.
The more substantial changes are found inside, as the Electrified GV70 now comes with a new free-standing 27-inch OLED panel that merges the infotainment touchscreen and driver’s display. It is a touchscreen, but there is also a physical click-wheel on the centre console to operate it, if you prefer, and some handy shortcut buttons on the dashboard.
Below those are a new air-conditioning control panel mounted on the centre console. There’s more ambient lighting than before as well, a new three-spoke steering wheel design and a Bang & Olufsen stereo with Dolby Atmos surround sound for extra depth.
A far more unconventional addition is a ‘mood curator’ that’s supposed to help passengers change their mood by adjusting the interior lighting, music and even the fragrance in the car.
